Factory-made furniture is designed to fit standard spaces. Custom-made furniture is designed to fit your specific space, your specific needs and your taste. The result is no unnecessary filler pieces, no wasted corners, and storage that actually works for how you live. Custom furniture is also built to last decades — the materials, joints and finishes are chosen for durability, not for a price point. Long-term, a well-made custom piece is often cheaper than replacing flat-pack furniture every few years. How do I know the quality will be good?

Rekon Struktio has been operating since 2008, and the majority of new clients come through referrals from existing customers — which is the most honest measure of quality. We work with a small, dedicated team, which means you deal with the same person from first meeting to final installation — no communication gaps, no surprises. We are also happy to provide references from previous clients on request.

How do I get a quote?

Accepted Answer

Getting a quote is easy. Contact us by phone or email and briefly describe your project. Based on this, we will usually provide you with a preliminary price estimate. If you accept the preliminary price, we arrange a meeting — usually at your home or premises — where we go through the project in more detail. Based on that, we draw up a detailed written quote.

How long does a project take?

Project timelines vary depending on scope. A custom kitchen typically takes 6–8 weeks from order confirmation to installation. Individual pieces such as a wardrobe or bed can be ready in 2–4 weeks, depending on current order volume. We always agree on a schedule before starting work — and we stick to it. If there are any schedule changes, we will inform you immediately.

How does payment work?

By invoice, usually in two installments so that the first half is invoiced when starting and the remaining half when the work is completed. For larger orders, we create a payment schedule where payments are divided into several installments.

Can I get a household tax deduction for your services?

Accepted Answer

Yes, measurement and installation costs are eligible for the household tax deduction (kotitalousvähennys) and they are itemised on the invoice.

Do I need to have a ready plan?

Accepted Answer

We can go through needs and wishes together. For a quote, however, it's enough that you have a preliminary plan that helps getting started. Usually in the early stages of design work we go through dimensions, materials and mechanisms, which already give hints about the total costs of the project.

What does the price consist of?

The price is comprised of design, workshop hours, materials and delivery/installation. We always calculate a quote before starting the actual work.

How much does a custom kitchen cost?

Accepted Answer

Every kitchen we make is different, so it is difficult to give a fixed price. As a rough guide, a custom kitchen starts from around €5,000–8,000 for smaller projects, and for larger, more demanding kitchens the price can be €20,000–30,000 or more. The biggest factors affecting the price are the number of mechanisms, the materials and the size of the kitchen. We always calculate a detailed itemised quote before work begins, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

How do you communicate with the customer?

Our company is small and agile. You mainly deal with only one person throughout the entire furniture project. This way we avoid information gaps. We also record project-related details in our electronic project system. This way information is preserved, and no detail can be forgotten. Unfortunately often you hear about other companies' projects where the end result didn't match the order. With us, communication breakdowns don't mess up the work. If we notice something along the way that needs clarification, we contact you. We don't just implement blindly, but ensure what is wanted to be achieved. All matters are agreed in writing by email. We stick to the agreed schedule. In exceptional cases where schedule changes occur, we report them as soon as we get information about them.

Do you also install built-in furniture?

Yes. Installation is always included in the service for built-in furniture. Installation is its own art form. It's important to us that the installed furniture looks suitable for the place and the finish is polished. At best, the furniture looks like it has always been there. You won't find visible screw heads in our installation work. Installation costs are priced either fixed or on an hourly basis. Installation appears itemised on the invoice and is eligible for the household tax deduction.

How do you take care of work site cleanliness?

We consider work site cleanliness and dust control of primary importance. We end each work day by cleaning the site and organising tools.

Question 18

Do you carry out bathroom renovations?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we implement furniture and custom furniture to be installed in connection with bathroom renovations. We ensure that all work phases are performed timely and with quality.

Question 19

Do you use subcontractors or similar?

Accepted Answer

When needed, yes. If the project needs for example an electrician, through our networks we can find a good professional for this. We work with reliable and proven professionals. If you need for example a renovation crew to do larger changes to your home in addition to furniture, furniture upholstery or custom metalwork, these can also be handled through our subcontractor network.

Do you have more pictures of your projects?

Some additional pictures can be found on our Instagram page. However, taking finished photos of many projects has unfortunately been neglected previously. This is one of those things we aim to improve in the future so that we can provide you with more reference projects and inspiration images. We promise however to continue focusing primarily on our actual work, quality and customer satisfaction. It's most important to us to help our customers by building furniture, homes and solutions that work primarily in the real world. We gladly leave social media and photo shooting to those who are best at it.
